The 2018-19 school year gets underway next week in Giles County.
Students report to school for a half day on Aug. 1 then report for their first full day of school on Aug. 6.

Several schools have scheduled open houses to welcome students and parents.
Bridgeforth
Bridgeforth Middle School's Open House will be Monday, July 30, at 5 p.m. The program will start in the gym.
Parents will be able to meet the teachers and go through their child's schedule.
Bridgeforth T-shirts will be sold during Open House and there will be refreshments at the end.
"We hope all parents will be able to attend," Principal Cathy White said. "We are looking forward to having a great school year."

Minor Hill
Minor Hill School's Open House will be Monday, July 30, at 5:30 p.m. in the gym.
Pulaski Elementary
Pulaski Elementary School will host an Open House Tuesday, July 31, for parents and students to meet the teachers and tour the school. Second graders will begin at 5 p.m.; first graders at 5:30 p.m.; and kindergartners at 6 p.m.
Southside
Southside Elementary School will host an Open House Thursday, Aug. 2, for parents and students to meet their teacher, visit the classroom, tour the school and learn about what will be expected in the coming school year. Third graders should arrive at 5 p.m.; fourth graders at 6 p.m.; and fifth graders at 7 p.m.
Richland School
Richland School will host an Open house Tuesday, July 31, from 5-7 p.m.
Richland Elementary
Richland Elementary School will host an Open House Monday, July 30. Pre-K-second grade will begin at 6 p.m. Third-fifth grades will begin at 7 p.m.
